Cupcakes with Pink Filling!!

On Tuesday after we found out that our little baby is a girl, I started to make my pink filled cupcakes for the big reveal to our families later that day. It worked out so perfectly. We made everyone divide into either the Boy team or the Girl team, then they took a bite at the same time! It was so much fun!

I wanted to show you how I made the cupcakes. I just used a Duncan Hines cake mix.

After they were cool, I cut a small piece out of the center of the cupcake.

Next I put the filling inside. I make my own icing, so I just made vanilla icing then added a few drops of pink food coloring! I lucked out because if it would have been a boy I don't know where I would have found the blue food coloring because Wal Mart did not have blue. Strange.

Then I took the piece that I had cut out of the cupcake and cut off its tip.

After that just put the top back on!

Then lastly frost the tops!
I was really happy with how they turned out, since this is the first time I made filled cupcakes! Just make sure you don't put too much icing on top and inside since it might turn out with too much icing all together.

Our Little Blessing at 19 Weeks!!

Monday, October 13
Our Little Blessing at 19 weeks!

How far along? 19 Weeks

Baby's size and stats?
She should be able to start hearing us this week!! I want to start reading to her!!

Gain? I have gained a total of 7 pounds, I weighed myself at the Dr and I have gained 6-7 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Still the same. Just maternity bottoms. Things are getting a lot tighter recently!! :)

Stretch marks? None

Sleep? Sleep is good, but I am still waking up on my back. My Dr. said to get some kind of support pillow and put it behind me so I don't roll onto my back. But then I have been having problems with my left side getting numb. It is so weird. I try to stay on my left side as much as I can because I read that is the best side for the baby.

Foods I am loving? Flavorful foods, mashed potatoes, noodles, chocolate milk and more chocolate milk!

Foods I am hating? Plain chicken, fried foods.

Best moment this week? Can you guess!! :) Seeing our precious baby on screen for almost a half hour and finding our that our baby's a GIRL!!!! She was sucking her thumb the whole time, and it brought me to tears every time. That was something I will never forget for as long as I live!!

Movement? I have not felt any movement, and now I know why!! I told my ultrasound tech that I have not been feeling any movement, and I thought it was strange because I could see our baby is very active. She was kicking and moving all around!! :) He said my placenta is in the front instead of in the back and she is kicking that so I do not feel anything. He said she will make up for lost time in a few months! I felt so relieved to hear that there is actually a reason for me not feeling anything.

Symptoms? I have been a lot more hungry more often. When I do not eat every hour or two I will feel nauseous.

Gender? A beautiful baby GIRL!!

What I'm looking forward to? I cannot wait to meet her!! I am very very impatient right now. I want to hold her, and look at her!! She is so precious. Her profile just melts my heart.

Milestones: Finding out our baby's gender!! And she is measuring exactly 19 weeks and 2 days!! Right on!!

Emotions: So happy that my face hurts. I have been smiling so much. I feel very blessed that our baby is healthy and that everything looked great. We were able to see every part of our baby, and the Lord has Blessed us immensely.

Our Little Blessing at 18 Weeks!!

Monday, October
Our Little Blessing at 18 weeks!

How far along? 18 Weeks

Baby's size?
Head to rump, our baby is about 5 1/2 inches long about the length of a bell pepper and he/she weighs almost 7 ounces. He/she's busy flexing his/her arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead.

Gain? I have gained a total of 7 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Still the same. Just maternity bottoms.

Stretch marks? None

Sleep? Sleep is good. I have been needing to use the restroom a lot more this week during the night.

Foods I am loving? Spaghetti, and flavorful foods!

Foods I am hating? I think I could start eating ravioli again (I had been hating that food). Fried foods still don't make me feel good.

Best moment this week? Feeling a baby inside me. Many times this past week I have very weird feelings/sensations in my belly!!

Movement? I have not felt any movement since last week, and I have been so anxious to feel the baby again!!!

Symptoms? I have been getting some cramping in my lower abdomen, it feels like stretching of my muscles. Is this normal? Last night right before my picture I was actually in a bit of pain from it.

Gender? This week I was thinking a Boy!

What I'm looking forward to? Movement that is very distinct! And of course finding out the gender!!!!!!!

Milestones: I was looking at my belly and it looks like a pregnant belly. I kinda has the point now!! If that makes sense to anybody! HA! I just don't know how else to explain it!

Emotions: Very, very weepy. If I get my feelings hurt, or feel sad I could just cry for hours! Did you start getting more emotional in the middle of your pregnancy?

I still sorta look like I am in pain in these pics.

I asked a lot of questions in this post and I would love to hear your feedback!! Let me know your stories!!

Gender Poll!

I was just looking at the gender poll on my sidebar and was so surprised that the votes are almost the same!! That makes me so super excited to find out our little Blessing's gender in less than 2 weeks!!
I would love to hear how you told your family the gender of your baby! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! As of now we are planning on using the filled cupcake as our way of telling them.

Our Little Blessing at 17 Weeks!!

Monday, September 27
Our Little Blessing at 17 weeks!

How far along? 17 Weeks

Baby's size? Our baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she/he weighs around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She/he can move her/his joints, and her/his sweat glands are starting to develop.

Gain? Not sure on this. Will check next week.

Maternity clothes? Still the same. Just maternity bottoms.

Stretch marks? None

Sleep? Sleep is great. I have been able to go without naps on most days, and I have been waking up at the same time each morning and that is so not me. I also always wake up on my back, does anyone know if its ok to sleep on your back during pregnancy?

Foods I am loving? Decaf Tea!!! Mashed potatoes and gravy!

Foods I am hating? Still mostly the same, I hate the foods I craved while I was sick. Like Chicken noodle soup, ravioli and fried foods.

Best moment this week? Feeling that my tummy is growing a lot!

Movement? I have not felt any movement since last week, and I have been so anxious to feel the baby again!!!

Symptoms? After I ate last night I had this weird feeling just below my ribs, it felt like air bubbles. It might have been indigestion.

Gender? I am counting down the days till we find out!! This last week I felt like it is gonna be a boy, but then I go back to thinking it is a girl. So I have no clue as to what our baby's gender is. Has anyone ever been told the wrong gender?

What I'm looking forward to? More movement!!!!!

Milestones: 17 weeks pregnant!! I also have been starting to plan out the nursery, and I think I found our crib and changing table!! I will be able to get a good start on the nursery once we find out the gender. I have been loving to see all of the nursery's coming together throughout blogland!!

Emotions: I cry at the oddest things. Yesterday at church, the preacher was talking about giving of your time to the Lord. He used this example of an elderly man. This man had been sweeping for years, and at 80 years old he, with a heavy heart, told the pastor that he cannot sweep anymore. I was automatically brought to tears. It just touched my heart so much. There have been other little things like this example that have made me so emotional. This story would have normally touched my heart, but it brought me to tears! So that is something different that I noticed about my emotions.

I just had to post this picture below! It's almost like I am realizing for the first time that I am pregnant!! Love It!!
