Sitting all by herself

So my little girl is sitting on her own! I would say that she is doing pretty good unassisted! I still have the boppy  behind her if I am not close by, but she is pretty much a sitter now!

Today I was taking some pictures of her, and when I came across this one I totally cracked up! It looks like she is so over these pictures! Like Mom I am only being good so I can get this over with!! :)

And this one is just priceless! She recently discovered her tongue, and she thinks it is just the coolest!

My precious little angel! You are my everything!

Savannah Is 6 Months Old-August 18, 2011

Savannah Lane is 6 Months Old

It is so hard to believe that you are halfway to your 1st Birthday! Your Daddy and I have treasured every moment that we have had with you. This was the shortest 6 month of our lives! You have made a ton of changes in the last month alone!
-You are almost sitting on your own.

-You are not rolling a lot, but you know how.

-You have your good and bad nights of sleep, about 75% of the time you sleep through the night. Usually about 12 hours. 7pm-7am.

-You love to eat your big girl food! We only feed you once around 5pm. You usually eat a veggie and some fruit mixed with your oatmeal cereal. You have had peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, squash with corn, carrots, bananas, pears, prunes, peaches, and apples. You hate carrots, and your favorite is sweet potatoes!

-It took your bowels about 3 weeks to adjust to these new eating habits, prunes always helped out!

-You still breastfeed, and it is going really well. You breastfeed around 5-7 times a day, on demand. Although Momma cannot wait until this stage is over! Lets just say it does not help with weight loss, it just makes Momma extremely hungry all the time!

-Momma is haunted by your upcoming well check, every time I think about your shots I start to feel nauseated. Daddy must go along. You are my heart sweet girl, every time you hurt, I hurt more!
-You have found your toes/feet. You love to kick them up in the air and play with them!

-You love to play toys!

-Momma feels like you get bored so we try to find lots of new things for you to do, like going on walks, watching Baby Ein.steins in the morning, folding laundry with Momma, visiting g-ma, trying to find new toys for you around the house like measuring spoons that you love!

-You love to be around new exciting things as long as Momma is right there with you, or Daddy! You have often times cried until Momma comes to get you! I know now to stay right there with you sweet girl! It sure does break my heart when I see you crying! You never cry when you are with your Momma and Daddy, only when you are ready to eat your last meal at bedtime, sometimes you just cannot wait patiently while we get you into your Jammie's after bath time. You want to eat and sleep immediately!

-We never would even think to let you Cry It Out! We have been blessed to never even need to think about that, you are a very good baby.

-You went swimming in a heated pool for the 1st time, and you loved it!

-You laughed and laughed at my parents little poodle when we were dog sitting, he just cracked you up when he would play with his toys (this in now way means we are getting a dog!)

-You still do really well in your car seat, if you are ready for a nap, you usually sleep really good in your seat if we are driving/shopping.

-You get a bath every night before bedtime, and you love it!

-On the nights that Momma is working, Daddy usually takes care of you and puts you to bed

-If you wake up before Daddy leaves he will get you and change your diaper while Momma makes her coffee. Momma LOVES this! I adore listening to Daddy talk to you while he changes you, then I hear you talking back and squealing with joy. My heart instantly feels so thankful for you and your Daddy. You are Daddy's little girl, and Mommas little Angel!

-Your 1st Christmas is quickly approaching. Momma is VERY excited to shop for you, and to get out your pink tree!

Hair LOVE

Couldn't resist pampering my sweet girl! She got her hair straightened by Momma, and she loved it! She's gonna be Momma's Spa partner before I know it!!
...she also LOVES watching Momma put on her make up!! I will admit, she told me she loves lip gloss already! ;)

Savannah Is 4 Months Old-June 18, 2011

Its so hard to believe that my baby girl is already 4 months old! I can totally say that I love, adore and cherish this stage that she is in. She has found her smile, laughter, giggles, hands and lots more! I have tons of pictures to share since I have been so bad at updating my blog! I want to capture these precious memories!
I don't see too much change in Savannah from her 3 month to 4 months picture below. Do You?

Here below she is talking to me! Its so darling!
Firsts:

First real laughter

First time sleeping in your crib

First time sleeping 12 hours at night

First time scooting

First time grabbing onto things/holding toys

First time falling asleep all by yourself for a nap

First time at GAP

First time Daddy was away for the night

First time screaming with excitement

First time that you started lovin floor time with toys

and so many more that I am sure I missed!

Below she is lovin on her favorite bear!
Stats:
Weight
Birth: 6lbs 1oz
2 Weeks: 6lbs 5oz
2 Months: Approx. 9lbs
11 Weeks: 11lbs 1oz
4 Months: Approx. 13lbs

Length
Birth: 18in
2 Weeks: 19in
11 Weeks: 23in
4 Months: 24in (approx)

Clothes:
You are totally out of 0-3 sleepers, but mostly everything else is still 0-3 months. Although you are wearing quite a bit of 3-6 months as well. The problem with most 3-6 month clothes is that they are too big at your waist and the sleeve length is still too long. So right now you are in between.

I went to the Carter's Outlet for the first time this past weekend, and let me tell you that place is so AMAZING. I could have spent way to much $ there for the little Princess!!

You are now wearing size 2 diapers.

You love to scoot around on the floor! You started at the bottom of this blanket and scooted until you could not go anymore!!! Momma was so proud of you!! You are very close to rolling over, and you want to pull your head up all the time now, I think you want to sit!!!
All the toys go straight to the mouth now! I wonder if you have teeth coming!! You love sticking your tongue out now too!
Sleep:

Just a couple days after I wrote your 3 month post you started sleeping through the night!! I was so amazed and so happy! You usually go to bed right after your bath around 7:30-8:30 and then sleep until 6ish when I feed you, then you go back down for another 2 hours or so!! You started this in your bassinet, and now we have moved you into your crib and you do so great! The great thing about you sleeping through the night is that you don't even wake up once through the whole night!! As soon as you started sleeping through the night, you never wake up until morning! Don't ask me how you do it, but I have heard that right around 3 months babies usually are able to go longer periods of time through the night without feedings! Another thing that helped with your sleeping is that we usually try not to let you nap too close to your bedtime, and we play lullabies and keep a small light on in your room!

We are so proud of you!! Daddy and I can have some time for us in the evenings now, it is so nice!

Eat:

You love to eat! I have just recently started to have some problems with breast feeding. You might be going through a growth spurt, it seems you eat almost every 2 hours during the day, and by mid afternoon my supply is drained! I keep waiting for my supply to increase but have not had any luck! I usually need to finish off one feeding towards the evening with about 4oz of pumped breast milk. I only pump once a day, at night right before I go to bed.

Before I quit, I want to try one more thing. We are going to start feeding you rice cereal! I am so super excited to see how it goes. You are showing all of the signs that you are ready to eat! Hopefully you will be more satisfied then!

I would love to hear from anyone who has had similar issues with breast feeding!

Below in the picture you are trying your hardest to eat your favorite teddy!

Your Daddy and I Love you so much, and feel very blessed to have you Sweet Girl! I just cannot get over how many changes you have made in the last month! You seem so much more grown up, you are definitely not a newborn any more!!

You look so big and grown up in this pic!!!
Momma and Daddy love you so much Savannah!! Happy 4 Months!!

Baby Savannah's 1st EASTER

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We sure did!! I am so behind on my blogging, its sad!! Here are some pictures of our Easter!

I remember all the years past that I felt this huge void on all Holidays when we were going through Infertility. I felt so blessed as we celebrated our 1st Holiday as a family of 3! I had so much to be thankful for this Easter!

Thankful for my wonderful Hubby who stuck with me through all those emotional years of IF. I will say those years were probably just as difficult for him as they were for me. In different ways though, for him it was that his wife was consumed with IF, and left him feeling neglected. Which I regret to this day. For me it was the desire to be a Momma. I regret letting it consume my whole life for the majority of the years were were going though IF. I remember a couple of months before were got pregnant I gave it all to God and felt an amazing peace. I then realized how many years I let slip by consumed with only one thing. Those years I will never be able to get back, but I can now try to make up for them.

I know its easy for me to say these things since I now have my baby girl, but I say these things to encourage others that are struggling as well. I pray the Lord will give you peace!

Thankful for my Saviour who arose from the dead, and paid for all my sins. When I really stop and think of that sacrifice it makes me feel so undeserving. It makes me strive to make Him proud of me, HIS child. Thank you LORD!

Happy BELATED Easter!

On a different note, I have been working on Savannah's 2 Month post for about 3 weeks now!! Its sad I know! In another week I will need to start her 3 Month post!! My little girl has not been all that content since about 3 weeks after she was born. So most days I end up holding her a LOT, which I LOVE, but it does keep me from doing some things, like blogging. Then when she does give me some time to get things done, I'm flying around to get laundry, cooking and household chores done. I have so much to post about her, she had been a lot more content in the last week. So hopefully I can get a few posts done now.

I have got to include that last night was the FIRST night she slept in her crib, and the second night that she slept for over 6 hours straight!! I was so proud of her!! This is the little girl who would not nap for more than 20 minutes in her crib! So you can imagine I was over the moon happy! She had been sleeping in a bassinet in our room, and most of her daytime naps consisted of me holding her or in her swing! One thing I have got done is watch a LOT of TV! HA!!

Hopefully soon her 2 month post will be done!!

Scared Momma

I am trying to make this a quick post so I hope this all makes sense to you.

Last night was one of the scariest nights of my life (my hubby too). I was feeding Savannah and I have just recently started to give her Gri.pe Wa.ter between each side, I offer it to her in a bottle, it is supposed to help with Colic/stomach issues. Well she pulled some of it down the wrong pipe or somehow she choked on it. Now she has done this before but NOT NEARLY this extreme. I immediately saw that this was bad. She could not get her breath at all. We were so stunned, and were trying to help her. Then her arms and body went limp, and she started to foam out of her mouth. I was almost hysterical. My hubby calls 91.1. I flipped her over in my arm and patted her back fairly hard, that seemed to help a little. Then hubby took her and was ready to start CP.R. Before he started she started to cry. We were so happy to hear that. By the time the E.MTs got here she was crying and ready to eat on the other side. WORST NIGHT OF MY LIFE. Every time I think back on it I get that weak feeling back. Praise God she is alright!!

So I guess the point of this post is to ask if anyone has had something like this happen to there infant? Also, if anyone has had any experience with Gri.pe Wa.ter? I am terrified to give it to her again, I don't think I will. It did seem to help with her Col.ic symptoms. I only gave it to her at her night time feedings. We were all almost certain that the foam out of her mouth was from the Gr.ipe W.ater coming back up. Like I said before she has choked before on milk, but was able to get her breath right away. So I am not sure if this was caused by the Gr.ipe W.ater or if it was just a really bad choke that could have been caused by breast milk as well. I would love any feedback!

Savannah's Nursery

I pretty much have Savannah's Nursery complete! I had been working on it a lot the week I went into labor, but it was not quite done yet! So yes, my baby is now 7 weeks old, and I finally have the Nursery done! My days just go by way too fast, and I would much rather be cuddling my sweet baby girl than be working around the house!! She loves to be held and cuddled, I think we have a spoiled little girl already!!

I am 90% happy with how my Nursery turned out! I will point out the one wall that I think needs a little something more, but other than that I am so happy with it!!

I got the Monogram and the Pom Poms off of etsy.

Here is the bow board that I made...you can find that post here. I ended up just piecing together the crib set on my own to save money. I got the crib skirt and bumper pad at Babies R Us. I still don't have a crib comforter, and am not really sure if I even need one. This is the wall that I am just not totally satisfied with, I think her picture is almost too small for all that open space. I guess it will need to do for now!
Now for the long awaited changing center reveal!! Let me just say, it has not let me down!! I purchased the baskets on the top from Babies R Us, and the ones on the bottom from WalMart.com.
Here is a good shot of the lighting. It is operated by touch, and it has 3 different settings of light, the dim one is perfect for those middle of the night changings! The touch pad is that little brass circle on the side.

One thing that I could not do without is the wipes warmer! I would recommend that for any new mom! It just kills me to wipe my little ones bum with a cold wipe!!
This is the table in the entryway of the Nursery, it is all complete except for a picture of her in the frame on the table. It is on its way though!
I hope you have enjoyed her Nursery! We spend lots of time in here! Although she is not sleeping in her crib yet, I have been happy having her in our room in a bassinet. She is not a very good sleeper at nighttime, so I feel like I have hit jackpot when she sleeps in her bassinet for a few hours. I am hoping this will get better soon, then maybe eventually she will sleep in her room!
