Our Little Blessing at 6 Weeks!!!

I will try to do all of my weekly updates on Monday's, since that is the start of a new week of pregnancy for us!!

Monday, July 12
Our Little Blessing at 6 weeks!

How far along? 6 Weeks

Baby's size? Our Blessing will have a growth spurt this week. It could go from the size of a lentil all the way to the size of a chickpea!!!!

Weight Gain? I gained 3 pounds already...I have not been watching what I eat. I need to start!!

Maternity clothes? My new sister in law took me to a garage sale that had lots of maternity clothes. I was able to find a lot of cute shirts, and a winter coat from Gap!! I was so excited!

Stretch marks? None

Sleep? I sleep great! I could sleep all the time. I am exhausted.

Foods I am loving? Basically all foods! :) I have been really hungry. I have not been craving anything in particular.

Foods I am hating? Fried foods have kind of made me feel nauseated. But other than that nothing has bothered me so far.

Best moment this week? Finding out we were pregnant!!!!!!
Movement? No movement yet. I cannot wait for the movement to start!

Symptoms? I have had an empty stomach/nausea feeling for over a week now. I also have been exhausted! Like so tired, I cannot function. I have never felt so tired before in my life. I have taken a nap the last two days, and I never do that. I had a very busy week so I think that contributed to the exhaustion!

Gender? I have no idea as of right now! We will be finding out though!

What I miss? NOTHING!!!

What I'm looking forward to? Our first ultrasound in about a week, and then we will be able to see how many heartbeats there are!!!

Weekly Wisdom: Keep something close to snack on, once that feeling comes that you need to fill your stomach there is no waiting!!

Milestones: We are 6 weeks pregnant!

Emotions: I have been so overjoyed, thankful and totally in awe of our answered prayer.

Here is our first belly picture!! I know it is early, but I want to see the progression from the beginning!! I will probably try to wear the same outfit for as long as I can. I like the way you can really see my belly in this outfit.

I know I already look like I am showing, but nothing has really changed. I have always had a little bit of a lower belly pooch. I had just eaten before hubby took this picture, so I was really full!! I have noticed that I cannot really suck in my tummy like I used to. My belly has been having cramping when I stretch, I read that my ligaments will be stretching to prepare for the growing baby. I have been having slight cramping every once in a while, and I pee a lot! I had even noticed some of these symptoms before I got a positive pregnancy test, I should have caught on.

I got the layout for my weekly posts at Ashley's blog. I hope she doesn't mind that I followed her layout!! I might add or take away a few things as the pregnancy progresses.

Today I feel so blessed that I have not been having horrible morning sickness, and that we are 6 weeks pregnant!!1

Our Little Blessing

We saw 2 of these negative test results last week...

AND 2 OF THESE POSITIVE PREGNANCY TESTS!

We feel so blessed! Our little Blessing will arrive on March 7, 2011.

We have had a very exciting few days! I will let you know how it all happened!

Last week was the week that we could test to see if the 200MG of Clomid worked for us. So we tested twice and they were both negative. So I called my Dr. on Friday and they said that I should call them back on Tuesday of this week then we will start another month of Clomid. They also wanted me to take another pregnancy test before I called again, the nurse said that sometimes your body can play tricks on you.

So we went ahead with our wonderful July 4th weekend, we spent most of the weekend at hubby's aunt's house. We had way too much fun!! I noticed that my stomach felt empty a lot, but I would always just drink some milk or water and it would feel better.

We got home on Monday, then I had to work in the evening. So hubby picked up a pregnancy test, because I knew we still had to take one before I call the Dr. on Tuesday. It was late before hubby got home, so I just waited to take the test till the morning. I woke up pretty early and thought I would take the test. I never look at them anymore, hubby always checks the tests. So I laid it down, and he checked it in a few minutes. I laid back down. He was really quite, and looked at the test for a long time, then finally said "Lori, I think your are pregnant!" I could here in his voice that he was totally serious, plus he would know not to joke about that!! I will never be able to explain that feeling that I had at that moment. It felt like a dream. A fairytale. I looked at the test, and sure enough, for the first time in my life I saw a positive! I AM PREGNANT! After almost 4 years of infertility we have finally beat it!

We spent the whole day telling our family's! It was so soon, but we could not keep the excitement to ourselves! I went in for blood work to confirm the pregnancy, and I got the most wonderful call yesterday. My nurse told me "Yes Lori, you are Pregnant!" They confirmed it with a Beta of 629! I would love to hear what your Beta's were! We are over the moon with joy!
We had our OB consultation this morning and they confirmed my due date at March 7, 2011, and she reminded me of the high chance of multiples with clomid. She said I am 5 weeks and 3 days along!

We scheduled our first real appointment on July 20, we will have an ultrasound done, then we will find out how many little blessings are in there. As for side affects, they have been getting worse as the days go by. My stomach continues to feel empty/nauseous, and I am tired to the point that I could slur my words! I am exhausted, and at the same time overflowing with thankfulness, and joy.

Hubby's brother is getting ready to catch our little Blessing!! HA!! This picture just cracks me up!

I know that many of you are still on the infertility journey, and my heart breaks for you more than you will ever know. One thing I do know, is that whenever I heard of someone who got pregnant after going through infertility it always gave me hope, but yet at the same time a small part of me felt like it just might never happen to me. So take it from me, never underestimate the power of Prayer!!

Today I feel blessed that we have a little blessing growing inside of me right now!! Praise the Lord!

Ovulation Predictor Test!?

I got asked about if I use or would recommend Ovulation Predictor Tests. For the 3 1/2 years that we have been TTC, I have used a Ovulation test twice, and they were both negative. I have heard that if your hormones are out of whack, then the Ovulation tests will probably not be accurate.

I did take an Ovulation test this last cycle, right around the exact time I ovulated. It was negative. I had blood work that confirmed I very clearly ovulated.

My advice to you about the Ovulation tests would be to not waste your money on them. Of course, if it is recommended by your Dr. you should probably listen to him!! :) My Dr. did not say anything about the tests to me, and I have never asked him about what he thinks of them. I do want to bring that up next time we see him.

For me seeing a negative pregnancy test is enough, so it's not worth it to me to see a negative Ovulation test too!!

I would love to hear your opinions on Ovulation test!

Finally! Ovulation!

May's cycle on clomid is over, and we are starting June's. We had an unsuccessful month of Clomid, but in my eyes a very successful month. We have made a lot of headway in the last month. I am so sorry that I kept you out of the loop totally. I was/am so caught up with just enjoying life right now. The days and weeks are just flying by like crazy! I really had gone through so many emotions throughout last months cycle. I had a wonderful cycle. I ovulated!

On CD 15 I had an ultrasound done and what we found made us very happy and hopeful. 2 perfect follicles on my left side. I then felt the ovulation pains a few days later, and that is something that I will remember for the rest of my life. I have never felt that before, and I have never ovulated. So you can only imagine my excitement and at the very same time I seemed to be holding my breath till the end of the cycle.

A week later I had blood work confirm that I ovulated with a Progesterone level of 45.7. Yeah, a step up from 0.5 and 2.0! We were thrilled and were very much anticipating to POAS!!

We did POAS from CD 23 to CD 28. We (mostly my hubby) just could not wait until CD28. Each test we took was negative, and with each test it made it easier for me to deal with the "ultimate" negative in the end. I really feel like my hubby was my rock through all of this, he has truly exceeded all my expectations of what a hubby should be at a time like this.

So now, since I ovulated my Dr. says I will start with my cycle on my own. Which is unheard of to me!! Then we will do Clomid again this cycle. Our Dr. was so happy with the way the 200mg of Clomid reacted to me. So here's to 200MG of Clomid in June, along with many wonderful days of Summer!

Major Negative in Wendy's

Well....

I'm not pregnant. Big surprise right. I'll tell you the whole story!
I had a Chiropractor appointment scheduled for yesterday, and I knew that they will need to do X-Rays. I also knew that you should not be pregnant for an X-Ray. I had not taken a test in about 2 months, my cycle has been strange as always, so I had no idea if I was or not. I thought, Hey, there is a possibility. I went to Wal-Mart and got a test, then I thought OH No where am I going to take this test. I was starving, and Wendy's is my favorite fast food place. I decided to take the test in the restroom. It was far from the best place to take a test, but I was out of options and luckily no one else was in the restroom. It was negative pretty quickly. I was not surprised at all.
So I washed my hands of course! :) Got a Double Stack no onion, small fry and bottled water, went out to my car and had my lunch. I just kept thinking to myself this will NEVER happen. After so many negatives, it becomes second nature. I think we might as well start the Adoption process, but I know that we are not quite ready for that. I just need to have a little more faith, even through the very difficult days.
Today I feel Blessed for everything the Lord has Blessed us with.

Progesterone Level Results

So work could not go any slower today! I was dying to get home and call my doctor's office about my results. So as Kevin sits on the counter, I dial the number. I got a very nice nurse to talk to and she gave me the results. My progesterone levels for this month are 2.0! I almost dropped the phone! You mean no more 0.7 levels!!! She did say that it is still very low, almost to low to call ovulatory. But she also said that maybe it was to early to get my levels at there peak. That sentence made me really happy! So on Monday I will go in and take a pregnancy test, and have our follow-up appointment. The follow-up appointment could be about the pregnancy or about the infertility. Talk about me being impatient, I cannot even imagine how Mimi feels about waiting for her first ultrasound. Thank you all for wishing, hoping and praying right along with us. No words can describe how amazing that is!

Today I am thankful for hope!
