Savannah's Nursery So Far...

I am finally feeling like the nursery is starting to come together! I think it is more that I feel really motivated to get things moving in there, and my showers are finally almost here!! I am hoping once I have my showers things will come together very quickly. I have everything planned out in my head, I just need a few things to make it happen! I always imagined the Nursery would be all done at this stage in my pregnancy, well that is not my reality now! It really put me in panic mode when I thought Savannah might come early!! I just never thought that an early arrival could be a possibility until last week!!

We had the room painted in December, I chose Polished Silver from Valspar. I am so happy with the way it turned out. My colors for the nursery have changed a few times, so the final colors are:
Light Pink/Pink
Silver
White

Here is a picture of the room with the painting completed. It is so hard to get a good picture of this color.

For Christmas my Mom and Dad stunned me! They gave me a picture of this changing center and told me that they are having one custom made in Black for the Nursery!! I was in disbelief! I remember me and my Mom looking through the Pottery Barn magazine and just drooling over this piece. I never dreamed I would have one in my Nursery! So I am waiting impatiently for this piece to get done! It should be finished in the next 2 weeks hopefully! I am also very happy with all the storage that will come with this!! As of now I have all of her clothes that I have already, washed and folded, but they do not have a "home" yet (except for the hanger clothes that go in the closet). Once this piece arrives I will be able to put all of her stuff away, and by then I will probably have had my showers so I will be able to put all that stuff away too)!!

Here is a picture I took from the Pottery Barn website. One thing my Mom had the guy add was a small built in light above the changing area! I was so happy about that, then I won't need to turn on a bright light in the middle of the night to do a diaper change!! I thought that was such a great idea! My Mom already bought me the changing pad and the cover in pink, it is so soft!! It is washed and ready to go!

I got the blind up in the nursery as well.

There are some other things that are coming together that I will share with you once they are completed. One thing in particular is her Bow Board! I am so happy with how it turned out! Post on that as soon as I get some pictures taken of it!

Our Little Blessing at 34 Weeks!!

First of all I want to Thank you ALL for your comments! They meant so much to me!! I have been having contractions mostly everyday, but nothing worse than what I had before. They told me to monitor them, and if they would get more painful or keep on for a few hours to call. A few have been pretty hard, but they don't continue on as they did before! It's nothing like I had when I was in the Hospital! I went in a week ago today! So we have made it to 34 1/2 weeks!!!

Our Little Blessing at 34 Weeks and 2 Days!

How far along? 34 Weeks

Baby's size and stats? Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. Yeah!! Info taken from pregnancy.com

Gain? Still probably up 23 pounds. I have a Doctor appointment coming up before my next weekly update so I will have a correct weight every week now.

Maternity clothes? All maternity. I really don't care that I am wearing the same things over and over. I just thought to myself I will not be wearing these clothes for much longer! I am loving that after so many years I can finally wear maternity clothes!! I will miss my belly so much once its gone, so I want to enjoy every minute!

Sleep? I have been trying to drink a LOT more water, so I have noticed I pee a few more times at night. Some nights she keeps me up with her movements and hiccups! So precious!! It's times like that I so want to hold her and snuggle her!

Foods I am loving? Salads, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers!

Foods I am hating? Same: Plain Chicken, turkey, ham. Also, salty meals didn't appeal to me to much.

Best moment this week? Organizing clothes I got handed down from Kevin's Sis-n-Law! There were so many cute clothes, and in the sizes that she will wear right away! I have felt the urge to organize and prepare! I am so glad, because it had left me for a long time!!

Movement? This morning her movements were painful, she is getting stronger!! Grow Savannah, Grow!

Symptoms? 1. Some minor swelling in my ankles, legs and now my hands.
2. Some contractions mostly every day.
3. Headache
4. Feeling faint and nauseated some days.
5. Easily get out of breath.

Gender? A GIRL...Our Sweet Savannah

What I'm looking forward to? Both my showers in the next weeks and a half!!

Milestones: I really feel 34 weeks is huge!!!

Contractions and more!!!

I will start at the beginning as to how we ended up at the Hospital for 24 hours.

On Sunday I noticed that I was bleeding again, and I was thinking it was probably from my polyp that had grown near the opening of my cervix since my pregnancy. The bleeding stayed till Monday morning. It had started kind of heavy on Sunday afternoon then went to spotting by later that evening and into Monday morning. After Monday it had all cleared up, so that kind of reassured me that it was the polyp. I did not call my Dr. I don't think this had too much to do with how we ended up at the hospital.

I have had a few contractions in the past, but was never really worried about them. I think half the time I wasn't even sure if it was a contraction, I just thought it was the baby balling up inside. Well I was slightly wrong. LOL! I've never been pregnant before, so I had no idea what a contraction really felt like! Which I am guessing most of those were Braxton Hicks.

So on Wednesday I was at work. I started to feel pretty awful, faint and nauseated. So I laid down for about a half hour, all the while I was getting cramping and contractions but not really paying attention to them. They were not that painful. Once I got up, I realized I had started spotting again, and the contractions started to get harder and more frequent, and the cramping increased in strength.

That made me decide to call my Doctor. They advised me to go to the Hospital right away and check into Labor and Delivery for them to monitor me. I was basically expecting for them to tell me that they are just Braxton Hicks, and the bleeding was from the polyp. We checked in right around 1:15pm on Wednesday January the 19th. My hubby asked me before we left if we should pack a bag and I thought no that's not necessary. I shoulda packed one!

So once we got into our room, I changed and they hooked me up to the monitors. One was to monitor Savannah, and the other was to monitor the contractions. Savannah was doing excellent! I was so happy to hear that! The contractions were not that great! They were about 2-3 minutes apart, and I could basically feel every one of them. They never stayed strong enough for me to need pain medication though. The Doctor on call came in (I loved her) and we went over a few things, so she checked my cervix, and checked to make sure the polyp was causing the bleeding. My cervix was closed, and yes the bleeding was coming from the polyp, which measured around 2 centimeters. So that was good news for us. They wanted to keep monitoring me and the baby for a while longer. We were all expecting that we could go home later that night.

Well, the contractions and cramping just keep being persistent. So the Doctor comes in and says we will be staying the night. They wanted me to take a pill to stop the contractions, as well as a shot for the baby's lungs. I was very hesitant about that one. They said that at 34 weeks they would not even try to stop the labor, or give the shot for baby's lung development. I was 33 weeks and 2 days! UGH! So close. Another thing was that my Hospital will not deliver until 35 weeks, unless it's an emergency of course. Due to the fact that they would need to send the baby to larger Hospital right away, then the Mommy is left behind. I then started to think, wow, could we really have Savannah now!

I then asked the Doctor if she was still breech. She brought in an ultrasound machine, and we were able to see Savannah. She was doing so great, lots of fluid around her and even practicing her breathing! The Doctor was very impressed with that. It turns out that she is transverse (sideways). So if I would go, it would be a c-section. All the while fear is creeping in to this mommy to be!

So hubby went home and packed up a little bag for us.

My contractions were staying about the same.

The worst part of the whole stay was when they put in the IV. Talk about pain!!! It was horrid. That is the one thing that I am already dreading when I go back in!! (Even worse was taking it out.)

Around midnight I took another dose of the pill to stop the contractions. I was able to get about 2 hours of sleep after that. I woke up to very bad back pain, cramping, contractions and an AWFUL headache. The back pain was so awful, it started at the bottom and crept its way up. The contractions were the strongest at this point. I still did not need any pain medication for them, they were manageable. The Doctor came in to check the cervix (she had done that a few times earlier in the stay too that I did not mention), the cervix was still closed. My awful headache was caused by the pills that were supposed to stop the contractions. I then got about 2 more hours of sleep, after the back pain dyed down a little.

In the morning I refused to take another dose of the pill to stop the contractions. The headache was just too awful, and I kept thinking I am sooo close to 34 weeks.

Then it was shift change for the nurses, and let me tell you I got quite the mean nurse! It's so amazing how a good nurse can make everything seem calm, then as soon as a mean one comes everything seems so awful! I was not very happy with her! I pray that I will not have her when I am having Savannah!

My contractions then started to go away in the morning!!! And my cervix was still closed! All was looking good! We were then released around 1pm on Thursday! We were given instructions on what to watch for, and when to come back in. We got home and we were so exhausted! The beds were sooo uncomfortable, you would think they would make them a lot more comfortable with all that we need to go through when we are there!

My contractions were still gone!

I got a lot of rest since I got home, and was contraction free until about 2 hours ago. I have been feeling some contractions again. So lets hope they do not get worse! We want to make it to at least 35 weeks, so Savannah will be a lot more ready to enter this world, and so we could deliver at the Hospital where we are comfortable at!

If you have any questions please ask! I would love to answer them for you! I would also love to hear any stories similar to mine, and how your story ended up!

I really want to do a post soon on the fear I have about Labor and mostly delivery!!

Our Little Blessing at 32 Weeks and 4 Days!

How far along? 33 Weeks

Baby's size and stats? Savannah should weigh a little over 4 pounds now, and should be past the 17" mark. WOW. She is growing. I remember like it was just yesterday when she was only the size of a bean!! Amazing!

Gain? Last I was at the Dr. I had gained 6 pounds in 2 weeks! Yeah, you heard that right. I am hoping some if it was water weight, because I have started to swell so bad. So I would be up 24 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Yes, all maternity basically. I have started to feel like I wear the same thing over and over! Only a few weeks to go!

Sleep? Sleep has still been better ever since I got that amazing pillow. I get up about 3-4 times to pee, so that has gotten a little better. I think it's because I am sleeping so much better.

Foods I am loving? This week salads have tasted so good! And Milk as always. Oh, I can't forget the Milkshakes too!

Foods I am hating? Same: Plain Chicken, turkey, ham. Also, salty meals didn't appeal to me to much this past week.

Best moment this week? Getting out of the Hospital! Post on that to follow.

Movement? Her movements have been so strong. One new thing I have noticed this week is her having hiccups! Too cute! But I always feel so bad for her when she's having them, because I know how I hate to have them! Poor Savannah!

Symptoms? 1. Swelling in my ankles, legs and now my hands.
2. Pre term labor scare. We really thought Savannah was going to be born this week. Post on that to follow, hoping sometime today.
3. Feeling very fearful of having birth. I know I am a huge baby! But after this week, it got me scared! I just want her here!
4. Feeling faint and nauseated some days.

Gender? A GIRL...Our Sweet Savannah

What I'm looking forward to? My showers coming so soon!!

Milestones: Being at the point where I feel like she could arrive at any minute, no matter if I have everything prepared or now! Which by the way, I do not!

Our Little Blessing at 32 Weeks!

Our Little Blessing at 32 Weeks!

How far along? 32 Weeks

Baby's size and stats? Savannah should weigh about 4 pounds now!! WOW! I can tell, because her movements have been a LOT stronger!

Gain? 18 pounds as of my last appointment, I will get an update on my weight tomorrow! I know it will scare me!!

Maternity clothes? I got one more pair of pants and a pair of sweat pants. I thought the sweat pants will come in handy even after the baby is born. This is the first week that I can see a major weight gain in my legs/butt. My one pair of pants were like tight around those areas!!

Sleep? One of my girlfriends saved me!! She let me borrow her maternity pillow, and let me tell you it works!! I am able to get comfy right away instead of after like 10 minutes!! If you can get one of these it is so worth it. Even if you only use it in the last trimester! So overall this pillow has helped me get more solid sleep, I am still getting up about 4 times per night to pee.

Foods I am loving? Milkshakes, veggies and dip, The Olive Garden!!

Foods I am hating? Same: Plain Chicken, turkey, ham.

Best moment this week? Noticing Savannah is moving soooo much more.

Movement? Just in the last week I have felt her so much more. Her movements are so much stronger. I can actually feel that it is a body part, I still am not sure as to what it is though, either butt, feet, arms or head! HA!

Symptoms? 1.Still have swelling in my calves and ankles, occasionally I will get it in my hands.

2. Rib pain. I can feel her under my ribs. My ribs are so sore.

3. I get out of breath so easily. I really don't mind that I breath like a cow most of the time! Oh, and I have started to sit like a pregnant lady, legs spread. I used to tell myself that I will never do that! LOL!

Gender? A GIRL...Our Sweet Savannah

What I'm looking forward to? My Showers in just a few weeks!!

Milestones: Officially feeling very uncomfortable. And we have finished our Registry's!

The Difference A Few Months Can Make

The other day I thought I would look for my first pregnancy photo. Well, I found it and lets just say I stared at it for about an hour! I was so shocked as to how much I have changed. So I thought I would share the difference with you...

I know in these last few weeks I will be growing more than I think. I am so curious what my last weeks photo will look like!!

I will say pregnancy is not easy. It may be for some people, but I think it is pretty challenging. A woman's body is so amazing. I was just thinking the other day, where are all my organs? Because I cannot imagine them still being in me!! HA! I am sure they are pretty scrunched. With that said, going through a pregnancy is worth every little pain and discomfort. I say that as our Sweet little Savannah has been punching me the whole morning, that is truly amazing to me. I can just imagine her tiny little hand moving all about, and soon enough I will be able to hold that little hand, and cuddle with my little daughter. It brings tears to my eyes when I imagine that day.

It was a long road to get to where we are today, but I am so glad that we kept on fighting and praying. Mostly I am so thankful for the Blessing that was given to us by our Lord. Pregnancy is truly a reminder of how Awesome our God is!

I think of you all still trying to conceive, you are so dear to my heart. Prayers are being said for you today!!

Today I feel so blessed to be given the opportunity to experience a Pregnancy!

Our Little Blessing at 31 Weeks!

How far along? 31 Weeks

Baby's size and stats? This week, Savannah measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds and is heading into a growth spurt. This information taken from Pregnancy.com

Gain? 18 pounds is the total that I have gained as of last Friday at my Dr. Appointment. I am sure I would have gained more if I would not have been sick.

Maternity clothes? Mostly all maternity clothes. I have bought larger sizes in underwear and undershirts, and it feels so good! I can breath!!

Sleep? Sleep is a lot better since I have figured out exactly where to position 3 pillows! Then when I need to get up for the bathroom (which is about an average of 5 times) it takes quite a while to get comfy again!

Foods I am loving? Steak and Ice Cream has just started to sound good.

Foods I am hating? Plain Chicken, turkey, ham.

Best moment this week? Spending a fabulous long weekend with my hubby, the last New Year with just the two of us. He takes such good care of me!!!

Movement? I feel her moving a lot. I just love to feel any kind of movement, it just reassures me that she is ok in there!

Symptoms? 1.I always know when my blood pressure drops, because I feel like I am going to faint. That has been the most difficult symptom for me, I basically have to stop whatever I am doing and lay on my side.
2. I have a sciatic nerve problem in my right upper thigh, and it hurts so bad sometimes!
3. I also have been feeling a lot more tired all the time, especially when I have not slept good, then I can tell I am a lot more emotional as well.
4. I have been getting a lot of swelling in my calves and feet. I would love to know when /if you experienced this symptom in your pregnancy.

Gender? A GIRL...Our Sweet Savannah

What I'm looking forward to? Childbirth classes that are coming up this month. I want to feel a little more educated as to what is about to happen when this little one decides to arrive!!

Milestones: Feeling like we are on the home stretch in our Pregnancy!
