Marriage and Infertility

My hubby and I have been married for almost 5 years. Never once did I think that we would have trouble trying to conceive. We really had it all planned out.

Get Married, Enjoy Life, Have a Baby...well let's rewind to Enjoy life, because that's were our plans stopped. We have not made it to the Have a Baby part. We have been trying for 3 1/2 years though, with no success. So how do you keep you marriage strong and healthy with such a big battle trying to overcome your life!? I ask myself that questions all the time, and I pray about that all the time. I need help from the Lord on that issue, I cannot handle our marriage and infertility on my own.

The first step for me was to realize that I need help, I need the Lord to give us both the help that we need. For years I was so focused on our infertility and how badly I wanted a baby, how badly I wanted to be a mother. I would see everyone else becoming a mother, and I would see so many little babies everywhere. It hurt me to the core each and every time. It was at the point where I was not being the wife that my hubby needed. It was all about me, all the time. I really did not see that until last year. So for 2 years that was our life. I get so emotional every time I think about it, because I hate what I have put my hubby through. He was so kind and caring, but I pushed him way too far for way too long.

We have since started to mend our hearts from all the heartache. The Lord has helped me in so many ways. All I did was pray. I saw things change right in front of my eyes, within days. I was so broken. I was so happy that I saw hope for happiness again. Not just daily grief over what I do not have, and there are constant reminders of that everywhere it just depends on how you look at them. I am so far from where I want to be, and I will never be perfect. I will always need the Lord's help.

When I am feeling so low and so sad. I try to remember other who are praying just to be healthy, or others who are praying just to have a chance at a pregnancy as well. I do not know if we will ever have a child of our own, but I hope and pray that the Lord will bless us in His time and in His way. As hard as infertility is, having the Lord on my side makes it so much easier.

Really, once we got our happiness back I felt like I have conquered the biggest battle of all.

I would love to hear about any of your Marriage and Infertility lessons.

Today I feel so blessed to have my Lord helping me through this journey of infertility.

Valentine's Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day Weekend! We did most of the celebrating on Saturday, I felt spoiled because I was able to spend both Saturday and Sunday with my Hubby!!

I love Valentine's Day so much, it's like that pick-me-up in the dead of winter! For me anyways, I realize that not all of you have tons of snow! I also love Valentine's Day because I love roses!!

My hubby surprised me with a dozen roses that were delivered to me at work! It was on Friday, so I was not expecting anything!

They did wonders for my tore up kitchen!! It was like a touch of love hit our whole house when I displayed those beautiful red roses, and they smell so good!

On Saturday I went with my hubby to his College Basketball game that he had to officiate, it was about a hour away. Of course he had to be there like 2 hours before the game started, so I went to Wal Mart while he prepped for the game.

I got there just in time to see him walk onto the court!

He is the guy in the middle.

After the game I went to the car to wait on him. So as I waited, I got out his Valentine's Day card as well as something sweet! We both love those chocolate cakes, and they are ten times better when they are shaped in a heart!

Of course, I had the radio tuned to the Love channel!! Gotta set the mood, right!

When hubby came out to the car and saw all of these things I had done, he got the biggest smile on his face. That is why I love Valentine's Day. That smile that I got from him put joy in my heart. It made me realize how special a smile is. His smile said to me "I feel special", and that is what I wanted him to feel. We did not buy each other a lot, but really it is the thought that counts, it is the thought that means the most to me.

We then went to eat at Red Lobster!! It was worth every minute of our 45 minute wait!!

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day with that special someone!

Today I feel blessed to have spent a wonderful Valentine's Weekend with my best friend, my Husband. I want to make it a point to make my Husband feel special throughout every day, not just on Valentine's Day.

Memories WIth My Valentine

I have been blessed with a wonderful man to share my life with! We have made tons of memories together.

The first day I saw this boy walk into school I was instantly drawn to him. There was something about him that attracted me to him, for my hubby not so much, it took him some time to see how special I was! I was only in the 8th grade, and he was in the 10th. He made me so nervous, I could not even talk to him without feeling nauseous!

So by the end of that first school year we were seeing a lot more of each other. I think I gave my parents a lot of grey hair that year! I just thought I had to be allowed to go on a "date" with this guy at the age of 14 (with other people of course). So I ended up going, and we went to Taco Bell and then we went golfing! Ha! Talk about nerves. I had never picked up a golf club in all my life, and I don't think he had either. We went with another couple, and I ended up beating hubby!! I still rub that in! We had an instant connection! Once the nerves had died down a bit we were able to have nice conversation that night, we found out a lot about each other! Every since then we were barely ever apart!!

We dated for 4 years, and have now been married for 4 1/2 years! I was very young when we got married, almost 19 years old!! So that will explain why we look like kids in this next picture, it was a couple of months before we got married. It was the day of one of my bridal shower's at my parent's house.

The first two years of our marriage we barely took any pictures. I have since then got a new camera. So I am working on going back to find some older pictures, and getting them put on my computer. We both look so different, it is shocking to me how we have changed since we have been married.

The next picture will jump about 2 years. We went to PA for a wedding, then we visited the Sight and Sound Theatre, it was so beautiful.

This was later on in the year 2007. We went to eat with my parents at a place call Atwood Lake.

Next is August 2008, we went to Gatlinburg, TN with my family. We love Gatlinburg, we visited it for our first time on our Honeymoon in 2005. This picture was taken at the Apple Barn, a wonderful place to eat!!

This picture was from the same trip.

Fall of 2008, we went to a Cleveland Indians game with hubby's parents! One of the reasons I love my hubby so much is because he can make me laugh a lot. We can have so much fun together. That is one of the things that infertility had been affecting, I am really working on changing that because I do not want to lose that! I need to focus more on the Blessings that I do have, and not on what I do not have.

Hubby's first time ever hunting, and he gets a buck and a doe in the same night! That is so typical for hubby! He got lucky. That happened the end of 2008. I don't think he has been back in the woods since.

Christmas 2008

My baby brothers graduation in May of 2009.

The day we purchased hubby's baby. His Dodge Charger SRT8, he was and is in love. He is so ready to get that car out again. I think in all the years that I have known hubby, on this day he was the happiest I had ever seen him! I must say when you sit in that car, you can't help but feel happy!

I was able to go with hubby on a one night business trip in 2009, we had a great time. It was right around the time we had finished our Clomid with no success. We had lots of good conversation about our future.

Fall 2009, Golfing with hubby. Since our first date I have turned in my love of golf, and have instead become the golf cart driver! Very happily. I seriously think I pulled something last year when I tried to golf.

November 2009, family pictures at my parent's. This was also our Christmas Card.

As I look back at these past years I feel so blessed to have spent so many moments with my Valentine. He is so special to me, he is what keeps me going. The best part of my day is when I am with him. If it would have been up to us, we would have a toddler right now, but obviously we do not. Through this difficult time, I am so thankful that I have him by my side. He is able to support me, and he always helps me see the positive in our situation. I cannot wait for the day when he will be a daddy, because he will be great!

As Valentine's Day approaches I want my hubby to know that I love him unconditionally, and I look forward to many more Valentines with him!!

When we were dating I started making hubby his favorite meal every Valentine's day, I will be trying to locate those pictures.

Perfect Night in Winter Wonderland

We got hit by a major snowstorm yesterday! It started to snow around 1:30, and by evening we had lots of snow and horrible roads! Hubby and I were able to spend a great, relaxing evening!

First of all we were starving. So we decided to splurge and eat really bad!

(hence the coke, and hubby likes Diet. UGH!)

What you are about to see is pure amazement for your taste buds!

Delivery boy! Umm, Excuse me...Delivery Man. Ha!!

We have the best pizza place in our little town, we ate way to much of that large pizza!

I was going to go with hubby to one of his B-Ball games, it was a big game that was going to be on a local TV channel and on the radio, but the game got canceled due to the weather as well as all of his games today. I was so happy to be able to spend a whole weekend with my hubby! I felt very spoiled.

We ate and watched all of our DVR, we were just ready to rent a movie on our On Demand when...

...everything went dark! Our electricity was of for almost 3 hours! I gathered all the candles and flashlights I could find, I was loving every minute! I looked outside and it was so beautiful, so we decided to go outside and hubby did some shoveling by our front door.

The snow was so deep!

And very beautiful!

Today we woke up to tons of snow! I had to work this morning, it took hubby forever to shovel a way out of our driveway. Hubby picked me up from work then we went to eat at our local Mexican Restaurant. Our Favorite place! I took a few pictures on our way there.

Doesn't it look so beautiful!! A winter wonderland!! The roads were completely covered.

This is our main road. Not much traffic today!!

We decided to stop in at hubby's parents house, they had been shoveling lots as well!

I'm guessing some of you got some snow as well! I hope you had a perfect night in your winter wonderland as well!! We sure did!

I feel so blessed to serve a God who can create such beauty.

I cannot wait to show you how my project is going! Update coming soon!

Happy Birthday to you!!

Happy one day belated Birthday to my wonderful Hubby!! He is now 25 years old. His birthday was yesterday, November 13. We celebrated after work by going to Red Lobster! Yum Yum!! It was so delicious. We had a nice dinner together. It's hard to believe that I have been in love with this man since I was 13 years old!! I am so in love with him. I strive to be a better wife to him everyday, he deserves so much more than I give him. He is caring, and very sensitive to my needs, he loves me unconditionally, he makes me laugh like no one else, he eats my dinner's (he deserves an award for that), he never complains about what I pack in his lunch, he is wonderful!

It's really cool because our Birthday's are 2 days apart from each other, so tomorrow we get to celebrate my Birthday. Can anyone guess how old I'm turning? :) (That might not be such a good idea, lol.) My wonderful sister invited us over for lunch tomorrow to celebrate our birthday's, she is a great cook, so I am excited to see what she has prepared.

Today I feel blessed to have a healthy, happy, and very ambitious husband who loves me for me.

What is love?

Love is patience.
Love is kindness.
Love is trust.
Love is friendship.
Love is fun.
Love is crazy.
Love is many more things!

True Love is never-ending.

Many times I think to myself "how on earth would I ever live without my husband?" "How would I get through this life?" I feel so blessed to have a Man I love, cherish, and have way too much fun with. It just seems like He has always been a part of me. When someone knows you so well, that can never be replaced. It makes me feel so sad when I hear of unhappy marriages. Love is able to conquer. I would hope. But the reality is, many times it does not. Part of Love is putting yourself last. That is the part that I have struggled with so much. I have come a long way with that, let me tell you. With my hubby right by my side. We have been married for 4 years, and it seems we have come so far since then. We feel more like a team than ever before. I think all those fights actually help! HA! You really get to know the person you are married to so deeply that you start truly feeling like ONE. How I love that feeling. I'm sure there are many obstacles to come our way, and many heartaches to face. But for now, I just want to be the best wife I can to a Man that has made me SO happy.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! Thinking of all my blogger friends!!

I would love to hear about your marriages, and what you do to keep them real and alive!!
