Bump, Set, Spike

Last weekend I had to "babysit" my sister since my parents were out of town. So on Saturday morning I had to rise at 5am to have my little sister at her junior Olympics volleyball tourney. Luckily my brother's girlfriend came along, I don't know what I would have done if she would not have been there. The gym was very close to the mall, so when my sister's team wasn't playing my brother's girlfriend and I went shopping!!

My sister's team won every game they played that day, and they won first place!! I must say my sister is very impressive out there on that court! They were done with the last game around 4:30 so it was a long day.

Here's all of us after a long day of Volleyball!!

Here is the star herself!

We had such a fun day, the weather was beautiful and the shopping was great!!

Lori's Kitchen Project-My "New" Oven

I am so excited to show you the process to my "new" oven! I completed my oven project on Thursday.

So below is what I had to work with:

I started by cleaning it real good, then I tried to sand the metal as best I could. The final process for me to do before I could start spray painting was to tape off as much as I could. That took me a long time!

Here is how it looked:

So now I was ready to get out my spray paint! I was so excited and very nervous! I thought as soon as I start, there is no turning back. I did my first coat, and I got really, really nervous. I failed to get a glossy finish spray paint, I got a dull spray paint.

This is how it turned out:

It was ugly! I thought I had messed up my oven. I went back to the hardware store and luckily they had the same spray paint in a glossy finish!! I applied a coat of that and it instantly started to look better.
Here is a picture with the first coat of glossy spray paint:

Now are you ready for the final result?!!

Here is my "new" oven:

Here is me, very happy and very relieved that this part of my kitchen project is done! It took me most of the day on Thursday!

Here is the final result, with my burner plates put back in place. Now it's ready for cookin'!

I am in total amazement of how nicely the spray paint worked for this project. Now we don't have to buy a new oven for a long time! I'm just so happy that it matches my kitchen, finally!

Later that night I took my lil' sister to the mall! We shopped for a few hours, then we went to Ruby Tuesday's for Dinner. She just turned 14 on January 29th! I cannot believe my little sister is already so grown up, and by the way, she is the most picky shopper on the planet!

(Of course, she was texting the whole night! HA! Teenager's.)

I feel so blessed that my oven turned out so well, and that I was able to spend a wonderful evening with my sister, the young lady!

Sisters in the kitchen...need I say more!!

So last night I was "babysitting" my sister, ha like she really needs one!!
When I got home from work, she had found a recipe online for Fettucine Alfrado, so we got right to work making dinner for just the two of us.

Below is the finished product. It turned out so amazing, and it was so easy. I will try to get the recipe on my blog. My sister is quite the little chef, she made the sauce all by herself and it was excellent.

I am one of the messiest cooks ever!! I hate that about me!
Did you see Hummer in the picture above? He is so cute!!

While the Alfredo was being made, we got this brilliant idea to make smoothies for us. We could not find a recipe, so my sister starts pulling out all the fruit in the refrigerator, puts it in the blender with a lot of crushed ice. Then we add some orange juice and yogurt. We have no idea how this is going to taste, we are thinking it can't be too bad because it had lots of fruit in it. This is my sister right before she took the first taste...

...going in for the taste...

...and it was delicious!

We were so impressed with our skills (mostly I was impressed with my sisters, ha)! It's amazing what you can do with a little bit of fruit and ice!

By this time we were really hungry!!
So we enjoyed our delicious meal.

So after we stuffed ourselves we hit the basement to work off that fettucine and hopefully a whole lot more!! I have worked out every day this week. I feel so great. My sister is definitely fun to work out with, she keeps it lively!! I will be posting my weight loss goal and how much I lose on my sidebar soon. Hopefully I can reach my goal very quickly!!
My computer has been so slow recently that I do not even want to get on because it takes forever to do anything!! Hopefully a new computer is in my future! Any tips on speeding up your computer?
By the way this is my 98th post! Only one more post until I reveal my secret project and my very first giveaway!!

Christmas Banquet...

...and lots of fun with family!! Me and my sister had way too much fun together, we had to do a silly picture. If you would know my sister, you would understand. She is a diva!

We stood in front of frosty for this picture. Me, my sister and my brothers Girlfriend.

The banquet was for my Dad's business, we always have such a great time.

The entertainer for this year was a ventriloquist Ryan Baumgardner.

All the wives and girlfriends of my Dad's employee's got a Longaberger Measuring cup filled with goodies. I was so happy to be taking one home!

I love all the Holiday events around Christmas time, it helps my Christmas Spirit to raise a lot just to be around family and friends. I hope you are all having a great Christmas Season. I would love to hear about your favorite Christmas Season spiritlifters (if that is even a word)!

Cold, Autumn, Soccer Game

We wrapped up this years Soccer season this week. On Saturday my sister and I went to the tournament game at 1pm. My hubby is the head coach of the private Christian school that we graduated from, so I have grown to love to watch the Soccer games. And I was nominated to wash all of the jersey's, and it was so muddy on Saturday, so every time one of the guys would fall in the mud I would cringe! My sister, Jodi, makes the games even more fun. We have so much fun when we are together. It was a cold day, but at least the rain had passed by the time the game started. Here are a few pictures that we took!

Below is little Gunnar, the best fan they have!! His daddy helps coach as well. Hubby's brother is Gunnar's dad!

Below are the three brothers! Hubby is in all black, his brother Aaron is in the blue jeans, and Gunnar's Dad (Kevin's oldest brother) is in the Yellow/black coat. They have such a good time coaching together. Hubby has one younger brother who is in college at Pensacola Christian. We miss him so much. This is his first year there. He usually helps them coach as well. So normally all 4 of them are out there.

The girl in the red sweater is Kevin's younger brother's (who is in college) girlfriend. Wow, that was a tongue twister. She is missing him so much.

Below they are praying before the game!

It was a great game, they ended up losing and coming in at 4th place!

We had a fun day, we ended the day at Buffalo Wild Wings! Perfect ending to a chilly day!

I hope that you all had a great weekend!

Here comes Monday, once again!! Yay! Kidding, of course!!

Taking a break

We are officially taking a break from "trying" to have a baby. We found out on Monday that our last cycle on clomid did not work. So we are taking a break until this fall or who know maybe even until next year. I am going to do a few natural things, nothing invasive. We are just going to take it easy. The stress from the last 3-4 months has been making me literally sick. I think its from all the different pills and the clomid. I want to feel normal again, I have been tired all the time and have had a bad sore throat twice in the last 3 months. So I have a feeling I need to sit back and relax. My hubby's favorite word for me is "RELAX." That word makes me want to scream, but I must admit it would do me good.

We have had lots going on, my sister who is due in August, started to go into labor on Sunday night. They were able to stop it and she is supposed to rest until Monday, she has 3 kids so that is a true test. We have been helping her out as much as possible. My sister-in-law, who is due in July, had been down with the most horrible respiratory infection. She was very sick. So the 2 pregnant gals have been having a hard time with there pregnancies. I just hope and pray that both can wait until closer to there dates to deliver these babies!

I hope all my readers forgive me for not posting sooner about my results, but I just could not do it. I had no desire to do anything on my computer this whole week. I had tons of e-mails and lots of posts that I missed. I worked, helped my sister and cleaned my house! That basically consisted of my week. I hope and pray that my mood starts getting back to normal and my body starts feeling better.

Tonight is movie night with my little sister! "The Proposal" maybe!!! I can't wait.
