She loves to help me fold laundry, and somehow she turned out to be Super Baby!!
Don't ask me how she got into her toy basket!
This past month has been pure joy with this sweet girl! We have had a very interesting month!
Sleeping:
At the end of her 7th month something had to be done! She was just not sleeping well at all. Nights she would wake up multiple times, and not go back down. For a couple of weeks every time I would get up to lay her in her crib she would wake right up. I was getting so frustrated because I could not figure out why she was doing this, I knew she was so tired too! The same goes for napping! Morning she would nap OK, but afternoons naps we nonexistent! Read Feeding to see what changed!!
Feeding:
We are done breastfeeding! I finally realized that the poor girl wanted more milk! This Momma was failing her! I don't know why I didn't catch on to this sooner! I always blamed her sleeplessness with teething or gas. I have always had a problem with my milk supply, and I think this last growth spurt did me in. I just could not catch up to my hungry little girl. Last week I thought I will try nursing her to sleep this one last time before I try formula. Sure enough she was on the left side maybe one minute, so I switched her to the right, that lasted a little while longer. Then she pulled off and got real frustrated just like normal, but this time it finally dawned on me HELLO WOMAN your baby wants more milk and you don't have it! So immediately my wonderful hubby heard my voice through the monitor summoning him to make a bottle ASAP! It turns out she drank 5 oz and crashed. No waking up when I laid her in, not squirming while drinking...nada...just a cozy, cuddly, sleepy, belly filling baby. As I walked out of her room I felt AMAZING. Not defeated or sad that breastfeeding was coming to an end, I think after the last couple of weeks of struggling through this I finally felt like we had a solution!
As a nursing mother for some reason I would not even think that I don't have enough milk. Partly because you can never tell how many ounces your baby is drinking, so you automatically think that they will have plenty.
We have also switched her formula from Simil.ac Ad.vance to Ger.ber Go.odst.art Gent.le. The first night of doing the formula switch my sweet child slept from 7pm-7am straight!!! Thank you LORD!! Each day we are still trying to get all of these changes down, it is so difficult to know how much formula to make. If I make too much then I feel like I am throwing money away, then if I make too little I just ruined nap time! So I opt for losing money! :)
-She has become quite the little gymnast! Pretty much a crawler, but not quite yet. She will go just a little bit then flop on to her belly. Silly girl! She can sure get around though!
-No teeth yet! But she sure is teething!!
-She has just started doing PATTY CAKE!! It is so stinkin' adorable!!!
-Diaper changes have become a battle!
-She is voicing her dislike when we take away something she should not have! UH OH!
-She started giggling when I told her "Savannah No!" I then started giggling as well, we have a major problem.
-She mastered sitting herself up this last month, and turning her whole body whichever way she wants to go! She also has started pulling herself up onto her knees! Her crib has been lowered!
-As of her last well check about a month ago she weighs 15lbs and 13oz, she is still right around 25 inches long!
-She wears all 6-9 months clothes except when I wear skirts she is still in 3-6. Still in size 2 diapers and size 2 shoes!
This last month we have learned a lot, and I am praying that the changes we have made will make a huge difference in her sleeping this month! I would love to hear from other Momma's who have had similar issues with breastfeeding!!
Happy 8 Months Savannah Baby!! You are Momma and Daddy's Sweet Princess!! We love you more than LIFE!!
