Savannah Is 4 Months Old-June 18, 2011

Its so hard to believe that my baby girl is already 4 months old! I can totally say that I love, adore and cherish this stage that she is in. She has found her smile, laughter, giggles, hands and lots more! I have tons of pictures to share since I have been so bad at updating my blog! I want to capture these precious memories!
I don't see too much change in Savannah from her 3 month to 4 months picture below. Do You?

Here below she is talking to me! Its so darling!
Firsts:

First real laughter

First time sleeping in your crib

First time sleeping 12 hours at night

First time scooting

First time grabbing onto things/holding toys

First time falling asleep all by yourself for a nap

First time at GAP

First time Daddy was away for the night

First time screaming with excitement

First time that you started lovin floor time with toys

and so many more that I am sure I missed!

Below she is lovin on her favorite bear!
Stats:
Weight
Birth: 6lbs 1oz
2 Weeks: 6lbs 5oz
2 Months: Approx. 9lbs
11 Weeks: 11lbs 1oz
4 Months: Approx. 13lbs

Length
Birth: 18in
2 Weeks: 19in
11 Weeks: 23in
4 Months: 24in (approx)

Clothes:
You are totally out of 0-3 sleepers, but mostly everything else is still 0-3 months. Although you are wearing quite a bit of 3-6 months as well. The problem with most 3-6 month clothes is that they are too big at your waist and the sleeve length is still too long. So right now you are in between.

I went to the Carter's Outlet for the first time this past weekend, and let me tell you that place is so AMAZING. I could have spent way to much $ there for the little Princess!!

You are now wearing size 2 diapers.

You love to scoot around on the floor! You started at the bottom of this blanket and scooted until you could not go anymore!!! Momma was so proud of you!! You are very close to rolling over, and you want to pull your head up all the time now, I think you want to sit!!!
All the toys go straight to the mouth now! I wonder if you have teeth coming!! You love sticking your tongue out now too!
Sleep:

Just a couple days after I wrote your 3 month post you started sleeping through the night!! I was so amazed and so happy! You usually go to bed right after your bath around 7:30-8:30 and then sleep until 6ish when I feed you, then you go back down for another 2 hours or so!! You started this in your bassinet, and now we have moved you into your crib and you do so great! The great thing about you sleeping through the night is that you don't even wake up once through the whole night!! As soon as you started sleeping through the night, you never wake up until morning! Don't ask me how you do it, but I have heard that right around 3 months babies usually are able to go longer periods of time through the night without feedings! Another thing that helped with your sleeping is that we usually try not to let you nap too close to your bedtime, and we play lullabies and keep a small light on in your room!

We are so proud of you!! Daddy and I can have some time for us in the evenings now, it is so nice!

Eat:

You love to eat! I have just recently started to have some problems with breast feeding. You might be going through a growth spurt, it seems you eat almost every 2 hours during the day, and by mid afternoon my supply is drained! I keep waiting for my supply to increase but have not had any luck! I usually need to finish off one feeding towards the evening with about 4oz of pumped breast milk. I only pump once a day, at night right before I go to bed.

Before I quit, I want to try one more thing. We are going to start feeding you rice cereal! I am so super excited to see how it goes. You are showing all of the signs that you are ready to eat! Hopefully you will be more satisfied then!

I would love to hear from anyone who has had similar issues with breast feeding!

Below in the picture you are trying your hardest to eat your favorite teddy!

Your Daddy and I Love you so much, and feel very blessed to have you Sweet Girl! I just cannot get over how many changes you have made in the last month! You seem so much more grown up, you are definitely not a newborn any more!!

You look so big and grown up in this pic!!!
Momma and Daddy love you so much Savannah!! Happy 4 Months!!

Savannah is 3 Months Old-May 18, 2011

Firsts:

-First Holiday

-First time sleeping in your crib (only lasted about 3 nights)

-First Giggle

-First stomach bug/fever

-First shots :(

-First time Daddy took you out without Momma!

-First time watching Days of our Lives with Momma!!

Stats:

Weight:

Birth: 6lbs 1 Ounce

2 Weeks: 6lb 5ounces
2 Months: Did not get an accurate weight, but around 9pounds
11 Weeks: 11lbs 1ounce (50th percentile)

Length:

Birth: 18 inches

2 Weeks: 19 inches

2 Months: ??

11 Weeks: 23 inches (75th percentile)

Clothes:

-0-3 months

-Some of the 0-3 months clothes are getting to small, this week I want to get all of your 3-6 months clothes put in your closet.

-Still in size 1 diapers, they are fitting real nice.

-You are definitely a long little girl, I have noticed some of your 0-3 months sleepers are the ones that are getting a little too small, just due to your legs and arms being to long! You are growing like a weed sweet girl!

Feeding:

You are still nursing, we very rarely give you a bottle only when I work which is about once a week. You do so well when you need to take a bottle, and I am so thankful for that. You eat about every 3 hours during the day, and about every 3-4 hours at night. I love how it has started taking a lot less time to nurse you, we are down to about 8min on each side. Occasionally you will nurse longer!

Sleep:

Sleep has been quite the challenge for you, we put you in your crib after you had been sick and you slept OK in it for a couple of nights. Then we moved you back into the bassinet in our room since you were getting up every hour or two in the crib. You slept a lot better in the bassinet, but were still getting up every 3-4hours. Naps are all taken in your swing! You take a long nap in the morning, 3 hours sometimes! That's when I either sleep too, or run around like crazy doing housework! Then you take a few shorter naps in the afternoon. We then try to have you bathed by about 7-8pm, then by the time I have your sleeper buttoned you are crying ready for your paci. I wrap you in your blanket and rock you to sleep, but you are almost always sleeping before I even sit down. I try to have you fed before your bath, it seems you go to sleep a lot better that way. Hoping that your sleep will improve in your 3rd month!!

Savannah Is 2 Months Old-April 18, 2011

Savannah I cannot believe you are two months old already, the time seems like it has flown by at a much too fast speed!! I feel like we were just anticipating your arrival! So many precious moments have happened since you have arrived. I wish I would have done better at capturing some of them. Your personality is definitely shining through by now, you are my little Princess Girl! You know what you want, and you are sure to let us know! You are smiling so much now, especially after you wake up. The first time you smiled at me I thought my heart would burst with happiness. You looked right up into my eyes and your whole face lit up with the most beautiful smile I have ever seen!! We love every single new thing that you do, and we cannot wait to go through every single day with you and see all the changes that you will make!

Your Daddy and I have spoiled you way too much already but we could care less. You are our little Blessing and we have dedicated all of our time to make you happy these last 2 months and we don't plan on changing that! There are many times that we just look at you and still cannot believe that you are our little baby, our little Daughter. We feel beyond blessed to be able to be your parents!

Savannah's Stats:

Weight

Birth: 6lb 1ounce
2 Weeks: 6lb 5ounces
2 Months: did not get an accurate weight, but around 9pounds

Length

Birth: 18 inches
2 Weeks: 19 inces

2 Months: did not get an accurate measurement

Clothes
0-3 Month fit perfect

Sleep

I feel like we have just started getting a routine in the last 2 weeks. You seem to be out of that newborn stage now where you would sleep ALL the time. I think since you were 2 1/2 weeks early you seemed to sleep at lot more and for a lot longer than most babies, or that might have just been your personality. Your little eyes barely opened at all for the first 2 weeks!

So now you usually go down at night around 8-9pm, but only for at the most an hour. You then seem to be fussy until sometimes midnight or after. Then when you are finally asleep you will sleep until 6-6:30am!! That makes me so happy! That is a huge improvement from you waking up every 2-3 hours to eat, up until about 2 weeks ago!!

After you eat you will always sleep again in the morning for about 2 hours, and also take a nice 2- 3 hour nap in your swing! Then it seems you will take cat naps the rest of the day, until your bath time!

Your sleep schedule has been pretty consistent for the last week, but we have had better and we have had worse nights/days of sleep. You are very unpredictable at times. Your favorite place of all time to sleep is in momma and daddy's arms!!! No questions there!! Your least favorite place to sleep is your crib.

Feeding:

You eat about every 3 hours, and you are so predictable too! As soon as I change your diaper you are ready to eat, no patience either! :) You are doing great with breastfeeding, for a while I don't think you were getting enough milk. So I would offer you formula after your feedings for a while, but now you seem to be satisfied with just breast milk! I am very happy about that.

A Few of your Firsts:

-First Sunday to Church

-First REAL smile

-First time away from Momma

-First time to visit your Daddy at work

-First time out to eat

-First time your Daddy took care you by himself

-First time you had your pictures taken professionally

I feel so blessed to have spent 2 months being your Momma!

Baby Savannah's 1st EASTER

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We sure did!! I am so behind on my blogging, its sad!! Here are some pictures of our Easter!

I remember all the years past that I felt this huge void on all Holidays when we were going through Infertility. I felt so blessed as we celebrated our 1st Holiday as a family of 3! I had so much to be thankful for this Easter!

Thankful for my wonderful Hubby who stuck with me through all those emotional years of IF. I will say those years were probably just as difficult for him as they were for me. In different ways though, for him it was that his wife was consumed with IF, and left him feeling neglected. Which I regret to this day. For me it was the desire to be a Momma. I regret letting it consume my whole life for the majority of the years were were going though IF. I remember a couple of months before were got pregnant I gave it all to God and felt an amazing peace. I then realized how many years I let slip by consumed with only one thing. Those years I will never be able to get back, but I can now try to make up for them.

I know its easy for me to say these things since I now have my baby girl, but I say these things to encourage others that are struggling as well. I pray the Lord will give you peace!

Thankful for my Saviour who arose from the dead, and paid for all my sins. When I really stop and think of that sacrifice it makes me feel so undeserving. It makes me strive to make Him proud of me, HIS child. Thank you LORD!

Happy BELATED Easter!

On a different note, I have been working on Savannah's 2 Month post for about 3 weeks now!! Its sad I know! In another week I will need to start her 3 Month post!! My little girl has not been all that content since about 3 weeks after she was born. So most days I end up holding her a LOT, which I LOVE, but it does keep me from doing some things, like blogging. Then when she does give me some time to get things done, I'm flying around to get laundry, cooking and household chores done. I have so much to post about her, she had been a lot more content in the last week. So hopefully I can get a few posts done now.

I have got to include that last night was the FIRST night she slept in her crib, and the second night that she slept for over 6 hours straight!! I was so proud of her!! This is the little girl who would not nap for more than 20 minutes in her crib! So you can imagine I was over the moon happy! She had been sleeping in a bassinet in our room, and most of her daytime naps consisted of me holding her or in her swing! One thing I have got done is watch a LOT of TV! HA!!

Hopefully soon her 2 month post will be done!!

Scared Momma

I am trying to make this a quick post so I hope this all makes sense to you.

Last night was one of the scariest nights of my life (my hubby too). I was feeding Savannah and I have just recently started to give her Gri.pe Wa.ter between each side, I offer it to her in a bottle, it is supposed to help with Colic/stomach issues. Well she pulled some of it down the wrong pipe or somehow she choked on it. Now she has done this before but NOT NEARLY this extreme. I immediately saw that this was bad. She could not get her breath at all. We were so stunned, and were trying to help her. Then her arms and body went limp, and she started to foam out of her mouth. I was almost hysterical. My hubby calls 91.1. I flipped her over in my arm and patted her back fairly hard, that seemed to help a little. Then hubby took her and was ready to start CP.R. Before he started she started to cry. We were so happy to hear that. By the time the E.MTs got here she was crying and ready to eat on the other side. WORST NIGHT OF MY LIFE. Every time I think back on it I get that weak feeling back. Praise God she is alright!!

So I guess the point of this post is to ask if anyone has had something like this happen to there infant? Also, if anyone has had any experience with Gri.pe Wa.ter? I am terrified to give it to her again, I don't think I will. It did seem to help with her Col.ic symptoms. I only gave it to her at her night time feedings. We were all almost certain that the foam out of her mouth was from the Gr.ipe W.ater coming back up. Like I said before she has choked before on milk, but was able to get her breath right away. So I am not sure if this was caused by the Gr.ipe W.ater or if it was just a really bad choke that could have been caused by breast milk as well. I would love any feedback!
